  • WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?

    We are a full-service design studio offering a wide range of services including space planning, furniture sourcing, custom furniture design and manufacturing, finish selections, custom cabinetry and millwork drawings, 3D CAD renderings, design consultation, and collaboration with builders and architects on design plans. We source flooring, tiles, stone, floor coverings, window treatments and drapery, expert fabric selection, furniture, lighting and other FF&E. We enjoy upcycling furniture which includes reupholstery and refinishing existing furniture to reduce waste, conserve resources, and support a circular economy. We work with local upholstery shops, fine furniture builders, metal fabrication experts, and showrooms. We source sustainable goods globally. We enjoy supporting B-Corporations. When selecting products we look for certifications as guidelines such as:

    • Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Certification: Verifies that forest products are sourced sustainably.

    • UL GREENGUARD Certification: Ensures that products are safe to use and contribute to healthier indoor air.

    • Oeko-Tex Certification: A mark of quality for textiles and leather products that are free from harmful substances.

    • Global Organic Textile Standard or GOTS: Ensures that textiles are made from organic fibers. Verifies that the textile supply chain is environmentally and socially responsible. Gives consumers the ability to choose organic products from green supply chains. Prohibits the use of toxic chemicals, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), and other harmful substances.

    • The GoodWeave Label: Assures no child, forced or bonded labor was used in the making of a certified product. Purchases supports programs that educate children and improve working conditions for adults in producer communities.

  • WHAT TYPES OF PROJECTS DO YOU WORK ON? 

    We specialize in residential design, remodels, and redecoration of individual rooms or entire homes. We enjoy design problem-solving, addressing the clients needs and desires for their space. We focus on designing spaces that are functional and beautiful while imbuing an energy that is both peaceful and energizing.

  • HOW WOULD YOU DEFINE YOUR STYLE? 

    We work in all styles of design. Our goal is to design timeless, thoughtful, and functional spaces for our clients that speak to the architecture and surrounding environment.

  • HOW IS YOUR PRICING STRUCTURED?

    After our Initial Design Consultation, we present the scope of work in a Fee Proposal. The project is divided into appropriate phases. Our wholesale vendors provide us with trade discount pricing from 10% to 40% below retail pricing. Pricing to clients for products will be not be above retail. Our commission on goods and furnishings includes the procurement necessary to ensure a seamless installation. We pride ourselves on white glove installations and styling to complete your project and finish your home.

  • DO YOU HAVE A WAITLIST? 

    We recommend potential clients start looking for a designer approximately six months before they anticipate needing one. This can be difficult to estimate, but generally speaking, several months in advance will allow our team to put you on our schedule. Currently, we do not have a formal waitlist, but we do recommend reaching out in advance to make sure that we have availability and it is a proper fit for our team.

  • HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING IN INTERIOR DESIGN?

    Holly Kane opened her eponymous design studio after working in the industry for almost 10 years.  Between our team members, we have over 25 years of experience in high-end residential interior design. 

  • WHERE DO YOU PROVIDE YOUR SERVICES?

    Our studio is based in Montecito, California.  We are currently accepting projects within Santa Barbara, Montecito, Summerland, Carpinteria, Hope Ranch, Goleta, Ojai, Santa Ynez Valley and surrounding cities.

  • WILL I FEEL PRESSURED DURING THE DESIGN PROCESS? HOW DO YOU PUT YOUR CLIENTS AT EASE?

    We pride ourselves on being highly communicative with our clients. We know the home build process can be incredibly stressful, and we want to minimize that stress in any way we can. We help our clients create a space that works for them and their family, not that conforms to any specific style or trend. We guide our clients in a direction they are comfortable with. Additionally, we believe in respecting the client's budget. Providing us with a clear budget up front provides a framework for our designs.

  • HOW DO YOU TYPICALLY COMMUNICATE?

    Based on years of experience, we have several best practices when it comes to communication. This includes creating a shared Design File, to gather and discuss concepts, Room Boards, to review specific products and furnishings for each room, in-person on-site meetings, email, and phone communication. Clients are provided with regular updates on the procurement and logistics of furnishings purchased.
